Product attributes

The main attributes of this soap include:

i)Low Mush and Smear Behaviour - Mush or bar smear is most prominent in soaps with high liquid additives particularly in Combar/Syndets where enhanced solubility delivered through the use of surfactants results in higher tendency to mush, as the soap is unable to loose sufficient water from the mush layer to return to a solid state under normal use. Saturated soaps have low tendency to mush or smear than conventional soap allowing wider formulation options and superior processing advantage.

ii)Superior Heat stability - Saturated soap is inherently stable and does not require supplement of preservatives. It addresses both the concern on the poor stability of Japanese additive-free soap bars and addresses the environmental concern of EDTA usage in Japan and the EU countries. More importantly, saturated soap noodles are truly natural soap that are sufficiently stable even if no additives (preservatives) are added. In applications where preservatives are not prohibited, the soap can be fortified with chelating agents thereby giving them exceptional stability that last for years.

iii)Excellent Foaming - Another important attribute of soaps is their foaming capability and character. Derichem's saturated soap range has superior foaming capability as compared to 100% palm kernel soap. The foam is plentiful, small bubble that relates to a luxurious and creamy bath - all of this natural, without lather enhancers or foam stabilisers.

iv)Good whiteness - Saturated soaps have initial whiteness surpassing that of any commercially available soap noodles. However, when produced without preservatives, the soap being pure, will age naturally albeit much more slowly than other available additive-free base. Conversely, this attractive initial whiteness can be preserved with the addition of chelants and the soap would have exceptional stability. It will also benefit combars formulated with dark-coloured surfactants such as LABS.
