Product attributes

The main attributes of this soap include:

i) High degree of clarity - Derichem's translucent soap noodles are made with the latest manufacturing technology incorporating both chemical and physical attributes to produce a base with high degree of transparency and easy to process.

ii) Low Wear Rate and Mush- Translucent soaps have relatively high wear rates because they are formulated with high solvent contents such as glycols, water and alcohols to maintain clarity.

Derichem's translucent soap noodles does not swell as much due to two attributes: a. Lower solvent contents particularly polyhydroxyl alcohols. b. The mechanical working of the soap crystals.

iii)Colourless base - In Derichem, the additives are not subjected to prolonged heating in holding tanks or reactors. This coupled with the initial super whiteness of the opaque soap noodles feedstock, give the translucent noodles an attractively clear and Colourless appearance. This Colourless base opens up a wide range of flexibility to the soap formulator in using soft pastel colours on their soap, freeing their worries of light blue or yellow soap turning green or orange. The Colourless base also provides advantage of using less colorant to obtain the desired colour intensity in the final soap bar.

iv) Good Heat Stability - Derichem's translucent soap base to have superior heat stability than other commercially available translucent soap bases. This is attributable to additive composition and mild manufacture method.

v) Comparatively better lathering properties- The total anhydrous soap per unit weight of Derichem's translucent soap noodles is high due to the lower additives content. This will give the soap higher lathering capability per unit weight as compared to other commercially available translucent soap.

vi) Less cracking tendency - Derichem has optimised the level of additives in the soap in view of minimising the cracking tendency.

vii) Low Odour - Being made from palm-based derivatives, the soap noodles are practically "Odour Free" as compared with tallow. This offer the fragrance house a clean base to formulate with and gives the advantage of using lower dosages of fragrance to achieved the desired impact.
