Derichem noodles - Superiority

To produce good quality toilet soap with high stability, it is essential that the soap base be free of impurities, of very good colour (i.e. as white as possible) and devoid of any odour except the characteristic odour of the base material.

In the manufacturing of the soap base, particularly in the direct saponification of fats and oil, pre-treatment of the starting oil is often necessary to remove the impurities, high odour and with chemical bleaching to improve the colour. In Derichem, the fatty acid neutralisation process of distilled fatty acids is employed.

A host of other ingredients are added to the soap base, before the final soap of the desired specification is produced. Such ingredients include:

Ingredients Purpose
Fragrance To increase consumer appeal and/or mask any unpleasant odour
Colorants/Opacifiers/ Optical Brighteners To increase consumer appeal and/or mask the natural colour of the soap.

In recent years, with the concern over the environment and a move towards all things natural, Derichem embarked on the development of a soap base (in our case the soap noodles) that would yield a natural soap with the minimum of additives and yet possesses both visual and olfactory appeal.

The efforts resulted in the production of a superior soap noodles with the following features:

Attributes Description
Super Whiteness Derichem's soap noodles, which contain no whitening agent such as titanium dioxide, has whiteness that is unmatched in the market. This superior whiteness permits the production of visually attractive white soap bars without the need for optical brighteners and/or opacifiers to "whiten" the colour of the finished soap bar.
Low Odour The soap noodles are practically "Odour Free", carrying only the characteristic odour of the palm oil-based soap noodles. The absence of any objectionable odour (that may be present in some soap bases),The soap noodles are practically "Odour Free", carrying only the characteristic odour of the palm oil-based soap noodles. The absence of any objectionable odour (that may be present in some soap bases), is a critical requirement in soap making particularly in the production of perfume-free soap. In soap where perfumes are incorporated, the low odour allows for a lower concentration of perfume to be added, while reducing the interference with the perfume notes.
High Stability Laboratory tests have shown that Derichem noodles are highly stable, an indication that the noodles are low in oxidising agents hence permitting soap bars to be made without the addition of excessive preservatives.
Safe and Environmentally-Friendly feature Derichem's soap noodles are produced from 100% natural vegetable based raw material - a renewable source of raw material, which increasingly is the choice of soap makers around the world over animal fat base material. Furthermore, the absence of bleaching process and optical brighteners and/or opacifiers, makes Derichem's soap noodles 'environmental friendly'.
Certainty of Product Origin Derichem noodles are 100% palm-based as opposed to tallow which is defined as fats derived from carcasses of oxen and sheep, but some admixture of pig and poultry fat is permitted.
