This series of evaluations is conducted to compliment the chemical and instrumental tests and is required to capture additional sensory attributes of the soap. A randomly selected team of panelists who does not have prior knowledge on the soaps being evaluated conducts the tests. The results of this test can be compared with other mechanical and instrumental tests. These tests simulate the application test of the final product. Unlike the performance test, a layman would also appreciate results from test other than the soap producer. The tests are usually accomplished by controlled testing conditions and involve actual usage of the product by "consumer". As this involves human and no instruments, the test results may be subjective and usually used to compliment and confirm performance test results. Unlike the performance test, it answers questions like - which bar gives a creamier and rich lather feel?
